Evangelicals & Truth

All I care about is the Truth. The truth is sacrosanct, and that is precisely why I am so passionate about Evangelicals calling Balls & Strikes.

But Truth is under direct assault, and it should come as no real surprise who the Master Orchestrator of this mass subterfuge is. It is none other than the Devil, and the Bible indicates Evangelicals should be aware of his wiles, but that is clearly not the case, which is becoming more and more problematic and vexing.

I submit for your careful consideration that this can be the case for two and only two reasons, both of them dire and most foreboding:

  1. The professing Evangelical in question is not truly born-again

  2. The professing Evangelical in question is truly born-again but not controlled by the Holy Spirit

I concede that option #2  is most definitely better than option #1, but I want to make sure that professing Christ-followers do not retain a false sense of security and live rent-free perpetually in option #2. Actions will always have consequences, so these matters are never inconsequential.

Yes, the individual in scenario #2 goes to heaven, and ultimately that is part and parcel of the good news, but what does living in scenario #2 produce?

A wasted life is what it produces, a life lived as a Christ-follower that will result in being rewarded with no crowns or very few crowns in relation to the Bema Seat Judgment of Jesus Christ.

Like most theologians down through the ages, I believe Revelation Chapter Five depicts the glorious occasion when the Body of Christ assembles in adoration and worship, laying down their crowns in a total act of praise and worship directed to the Bridegroom, who is both the subject and object of our faith.

So, there is no free lunch. I submit the case to be moreso option #1 than #2, and as a God-fearer, I would never want to risk my eternal felicity, which is what I think many professing Evangelicals are guilty of. No wonder so many Christ-followers struggle with the doctrine of Eternal Security.

We live in a complex, sin-cursed world, and rarely are issues of a large nature so black & white; there is usually a lot of gray and nuance undergirding the situation.

Satan exploits this reality and empowers his adherents to take snippets of truth and then venture into realms not consistent with all of the facts.

Cases in point:

Charlie Kirk was a social influencer who intentionally used hyperbole and polemics to stimulate a dialogue. Yet Satan has seduced and convinced the naive and non-critical thinker to lambast Kirt as a racist when nothing could be further from the truth.

As one example, Kirk accused several high-profile, prominent African-American women [Michelle Obama, Joy Reid & Kentanji Brown] of being DEI hires, and all of a sudden, Kirk was castigated as a misogynist who did not hold ALL AA females in high regard.

Yet, when you pull back the covers, you understand that Kirk was responding directly to self-declared statements by these Social Justice Warriors who, at various points, acknowledged and/or bragged about being the recipients of Affirmative Action.

Kilmar Abrego Garcia

Liberals protested with full vigor following the deportation of Kilmar Abrego Garcia, despite the overwhelming evidence that Garcia had illegally entered the country.

Along with many well-intentioned and otherwise compassionate Americans, I have no patience nor grant any sympathy to those whose interaction with America begins with maliciously illegally entering the country.

I posit the hue & cries about the need for due process for such people are, to the highest degree, flawed and nonsensical.

No sovereign nation can maintain law and order with such a flawed way of thinking. Just imagine the judicial resources that would be necessary to provide the wished-for due process for every person who chose to enter America illegally.

In fact, because of the sheer and unmanageable volume of cases before the court, the vast majority of the illegal immigrants who appeared before a judge were granted the freedom to roam American streets under what is known as catch and release.

Additionally, let me be frank and direct. Garcia is loathsome and vile, and despite his lawyers' protest, the evidence is overwhelming of his immoral and illegal behavior. So please spare me the crocodile tears being expended for Kilmar Abrego Garcia. https://www.dhs.gov/news/2025/04/16/kilmar-abrego-garcia-ms-13-gang-member-history-violence

I strenuously reject the “slippery slope” trope that many on the Left proffer as a genuine concern.  I submit that the average U.S. citizen has no factual basis for fear of losing their due process rights because of the U.S. government's treatment of illegal immigrants crossing our borders.

While our government, like all human institutions, is far from perfect, it nonetheless has a bent toward fundamental fairness and respect for individual liberties.

So, after these two as a warm-up, let me pivot to what has garnered my attention enough to pen this blog. In recent days, controversy has been swirling concerning the Department of War's decision to direct a second strike against a drug boat attempting to reach America to bring illicit drugs to our shores.

The Left initially portrayed Secretary of War Pete Hegesth as guilty of callously and brazenly ordering the murder of the two survivors. Thankfully, we have video

Even a liberal media source, such as ABC News, is now reporting that the two individuals were not helpless victims but active participants still engaged in illegal activities and attempting to safeguard their illegal drugs and connect with comrades to continue their illicit mission.

As I asked recently, after news surfaced about police officers killing an African American (AA) pregnant female after the AA pregnant female attempted to flee the scene and run over the officers with her vehicle, aren't we tired of being played the fool?

The AA female’s family screamed bloody murder that their family member was murdered with no justification whatsoever, UNTIL bodycam footage showed what really transpired.

The one who states his case first seems right, until the other comes and examines him. Proverbs 18:17

Remember that verse. Well, you should, and you should always keep this verse in mind when assessing what is true and false.

I do, and I do so not because I am the sharpest knife in the drawer. Now, I am neither the dullest, but the Bible enjoins me and all its adherents not to fall prey to Lucifer’s tricks of the trade, so I understand my assignment.

My question is, why are you so gullibly being led astray?

I can surmise two and only two reasons, and they are the same as before:

  1. The Professing Evangelical in question is not truly born-again

  2. The Professing Evangelical in question is truly born-again but not controlled by the Holy Spirit

As the Saints used to say and sing back in the day, “It's getting late in the evening, and the Sun is going down. Get right Church and let's go home.”

Charlie Kirk was not a racist, and if you come to that vile conclusion, that only demonstrates you either do not retain the Holy Spirit or you are not walking in concert with Him.

You are like the Prodigal Son, and we never knew his final disposition until he came to himself and returned home to his father. The jury, outside of the Triune God, remained uncertain about what the final verdict of the Prodigal would be while he was estranged from his father.

If you care more about Kilmar Abrego Garcia’s civil liberties than you care about his illegal entry into the country and his deplorable behavior while illegally here, then you, my friend, are part and parcel of the problem, and why we are in this pickle of a mess.

You can not brazenly disregard our country’s immigration laws and then demand that you be afforded full-orbed due process. That is akin to wanting to have one's cake and eat it too—plain old Stinkin Thinkin.

If you gleefully jumped on the bandwagon and salivated at the prospect of a DJT administration scandal, then you do not have any sincere desire to call Ball & Strikes.

I care more about the voluminous amount of fentanyl entering our country than the due process of the vile people bringing it into the country. As Jesus Christ so eloquently said before His arrest and subsequent crucifixion, “Then Jesus said to him, 'Put your sword back into its place. For all who take the sword will perish by the sword.” Matthew 26:52.

Those last two people killed in the gunboat attack full well knew the risks and dangers associated with such behavior the moment they stepped upon that boat, and frankly, I have no sympathy whatsoever.

As Baretta sang to begin every new episode of his TV show, Don't do the crime if you can't do the time.

As usual, let me know what you think. Until then, keep your hands to the plow and seek to serve for an Audience of One.

With fear and trembling,

Ricky V Kyles Sr. DEd.Min

P.S. An update on the South Africa Seminary Opportunity. It looks like I will be going to Johannesburg, not Cape Town, as I initially indicated, for nine, not six months. I am super excited about this opportunity to impact the next generation of pastors in South Africa.

You can partner in two ways: one vitally more important than the other

  1. Vital and first need and primary supplication. Become part of my Prayer Team, where you commit to praying for my family and me during the entire duration of this ministry outreach.

  2. If led by the Holy Spirit, to contribute financially to supplement the $1200 monthly stipend that the seminary is able to offer at this time.

To do either or both, please get in touch with me directly.

To contribute a one-time or recurring gift, use the attached link.
