Evangelicals & Apostasy

Be on the lookout for my newest Apologetic video, which, Lord willing, I will post later today.  I re-enter the world of video social media content in my quest to bring every thought captive to Jesus Christ.

I am dedicating whatever remaining time I have, upright in time and space, to what I coin as my Fourth Quarter, on this Earth, to do all I can to sound the alarm to the larger culture in general and to the African American (AA) community [most especially professing Evangelicals] specifically.

My thesis is tri-pronged:

1) God is judging America for her idolatrous rebellion.

2) The AA Church has apostasized, writ large.

3) No Evangelical, seeking to be faithful to the Word of God, can, in good conscience, align with the Democratic Party, as presently constituted, period, full-stop, and end of story.

I am currently reading Dr. Eric Wallace’s book The Heart of Apotasy and will follow that up with Kimberly Cash Tate’s book, More Christian than African-American.

I had to stop in the midst of reading Wallace’s book to share my thanks to God for His wonderful and merciful condescension towards His otherwise stiff-necked people. When He should have given us wrath, He instead chooses to give Grace and Mercy to a faithful remnant.

The passage from Wallace’s book that alighted my soul is

This represents the apostasy of the Black Church— a departure from truth, clarity, courage, and faithfulness. Like George Orwell’s Winston Smith rewriting history at the Ministry of Truth, many pastors and church leaders are altering the message to suit the moment. However, the popular vote cannot change the Truth, and no amount of cultural pressure can render a lie righteous.

Brother Wallace [he is a fellow member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. and, more importantly, a fellow follower of Jesus Christ] echoes my belief that the AA Church has apostasized writ large.

While I lament the state of affairs in African American life, I am nonetheless delighted to see God remove the scales from the eyes of so many People of Color.

I am reminded of the biblical story of Elijah after his miraculous defeat of the 400 false prophets. Surprisingly, after such a majestic display of God's power, Elijah still sank into a deep depression over his current circumstances. Satan convinced Elijah to turn to despair.

Yet God prophetically used the occasion to teach Elijah a profound life lesson, as well as to teach every Bible reader thereafter this salient truth: God will always have a faithful remnant who will not bend the knee to Baal.

Yet I will leave seven thousand in Israel, all the knees that have not bowed to Baal, and every mouth that has not kissed him. 1 Kings 19:18

I submit to you, the reader, that this is what we are seeing during this otherwise dark and most depressing of times.

Organizations like BLM and race hustlers like Al Sharpton, Ibram X. Kendi, and Ta-Nehisi Coates continue to stoke the fire with cries of systemic racism, all the while the data reveal gains in upward mobility for African Americans.

You might wonder why these race hustlers remain relevant. I submit they do so because Satan convinces society that systemic racism still flourishes unabated today.

I hasten to add that these race hustlers enrich themselves financially and work so hard under the direct tutelage of Satan himself because they know they will be out of a job if they do not insist and convince the average American, asleep at the wheel, that Jim Crow systemic racism still rules and reigns in all areas of the public square.

You know, like Joe Biden convincing AAs they were experiencing Jim Crow 2.0 because AAs would be expected to present an ID to vote.

There are no words that I can state in writing that can properly communicate my sense of moral outrage to posit that it is racist to insist a grown man or woman is experiencing oppression, akin to the oppression people just a generation ago experienced as they tried to exercise their cherished and hard-fought, through literal blood and tears, to cast their ballot. To vote and experience the same political freedom that the Constitution grants all Americans.

A politician, who would go on to become POTUS, knew he risked no real negative fallout for postulating that an AA living in the year 2020 was experiencing malicious treatment on par with being beaten or being attacked by dogs or doused with water hoses because that AA would be expected to present an ID to vote.

You know the same AA who has to present an ID to do the following:

Drive a vehicle

Purchase a vehicle

Rent a vehicle

Sell a vehicle

Insure a vehicle

Open a bank account

Open any account

Board a plane

Buy liquor

Buy/Rent a home

Register their child for school

Rent anything

Visit a foreign country

Return from a foreign country

Are you tired yet? I am, because I am tired of typing 😀😆😆!

Joe Biden insults the intelligence of educated AA men like me, but he did so because he knew AAs would slurp it up.

I used to get emotionally upset, but I have since learned anger is the improper Christ-like response because, like when Jesus Christ exclaimed on the Cross, “They know not what they do.”

These AAs are blinded because Satan is the god of this age, and thus, they are still trapped in spiritual darkness. The same spiritual darkness that had me bound in Satan’s sinister clutches before Jesus Christ redeemed me from the bondage of slavery.

As a result, I will step up my game by

  1. continuing my formal education

  2. reading more and educating myself

  3. writing a second book to enter my voice into the conversation

  4. Produce video social media content centered on Apolollgetics

  5. Continue to blog and do so more consistently

I pursue none of these lofty endeavors lightly but only with fear and trembling, as it is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of a living God.

How can you help, you ask? I am glad you asked😁.

  1. Pray and pray that Almighty God would be at the center of all of my pursuits

  2. Help me spread the word? Share my social media content with those in your sphere of influence

  3. Engage with me with your thoughts, your critiques, your observations, your counterpoints, your whatevers

  4. Pray because one can never pray too often

As usual, let me know what you think. Until then, keep your hands to the plow and seek to serve for an Audience of One.

With fear & trembling,

Ricky V Kyles Sr. DEd.Min
