Evangelical & Personal Accountability

I ride all day errday and twice on Sundays with Bro. Frederick Douglass:

Everybody has asked the question. . ."What shall we do with the Negro?" I have had but one answer from the beginning. Do nothing with us! Your doing with us has already played the mischief with us. Do nothing with us! If the apples will not remain on the tree of their own strength, if they are wormeaten at the core, if they are early ripe and disposed to fall, let them fall! I am not for tying or fastening them on the tree in any way, except by nature's plan, and if they will not stay there, let them fall. And if the Negro cannot stand on his own legs, let him fall also. All I ask is, give him a chance to stand on his own legs! Let him alone!

I do not want or need Affirmative Action, as it is never proper to discriminate, and God abhors partiality. He is no respecter of persons, and if He is not, then as someone who seeks to bend his knee to all that God expresses to be His desires. I strive to emulate all that my God describes as His good pleasure.

I readily admit I had not always thought in this manner, but that should not come as a real surprise to anyone, as the Apostle Paul pens the following while writing under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit:

When I was a child, I spoke like a child, I thought like a child, and I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I gave up childish ways. 1 Cor 13:11

All I want my government to do is ensure the playing field provides equal opportunities, but never seek equal outcomes. I readily understand and accept that no human institution will be 100% efficient in this lofty pursuit, which is why Evangelicals long for the day that Jesus Christ returns to Planet Earth to rule and reign.

The Free Market, when allowed to function as intended, allows the best ideas and innovations to thrive. This belief is why Conservatives favor small government, with minimal involvement in daily civilian life, and to interject only if society proves itself incapable, but never as the first option. For this very reason, Evangelicals favor Subsidiarity.

Yet AAs have foolishly and continue to remain beholden to the Democratic Party, which has repeatedly shown that its ideology does not lead to human flourishing.

BEFORE POTUS Lyndon B. Johnson’s (LBJ) Great Society, the AA poverty rate fell from 87% to 47%, while simultaneously experiencing lynching, voter suppression, and other deplorable realities of Jim Crow.

I will not even delve into the alleged statement by LBJ “that  I will have those n- - - - - - voting Democratic for the next 200 years.”

What I will delve into is that, since LBJ’s Great Society, the AA fatherless rate has risen to a deplorable 77%. Let there be no mistake whatsoever: this debauchery is devised, birthed, and celebrated by none other than Lucifer himself. One only needs actually to read Holy Scripture to come to this conclusion:

Or how can someone enter a strong man’s house and plunder his goods, unless he first binds the strong man? Then indeed he may plunder his house. Matthew 12:29

What should one expect when the very government, ordained by Almighty God to promote human flourishing, incentivizes bad and immoral behavior? The government provides more federal aid to mothers when there is no father present in the home, and the AA community has flocked to this Trojan horse with no ability to blush.

Why do I come to such a dire conclusion? Oh! These same AAs continue to go to church and allegedly worship as if God were not taking notice. As if God did not judge Sodom & Gomorrah for their debased behavior.

I side with the late POTUS Ronald Regan when he said the nine most dangerous words in the English language are, “I am from the government and here to help.”

I concur with the current Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts, who asks rhetorically, “How do you end discrimination?” With the simple solution of “stop discriminating.

Affirmative Action necessarily discriminates against someone, as proven when objectively more qualified Asian students were denied admission to Harvard in favor of less qualified AAs.

I agree with Dr. Glenn Loury, who says repeatedly to Black America, “No one is coming to help you!”

I am in 100% lockstep with Jason Riley when he eloquently asks White Liberals, while well-meaning, to “quit helping us!”

Our society, like all prior and future societies, will be marred by sin, so injustice will always persist. As Evangelicals, one of the reasons God does not immediately take us to heaven after salvation is to be Salt and Light.

I seek to be Salt & Light by writing blogs and producing videos, as I believe this is one of the ways God has graciously gifted me, as well as in direct dialogue with those in my personal sphere of influence.

All Christ-followers are commanded and commissioned by God to be Watchmen. It is sheer recklessness and utter heartlessness to watch your neighbor perish and end up in eternal torment without you warning him.

In fact, there are apparently serious consequences if we see our brother or sister traversing the Broad Road and we remain silent:

Son of man, I have made you a watchman for the house of Israel. Whenever you hear a word from my mouth, you shall give them warning from me. Ezekiel 3:17

But if the watchman sees the sword coming and fails to blow the horn to warn the people, and the sword comes and takes away a life, then that one will be taken away in his iniquity, but I will hold the watchman accountable for his blood. Ezekiel 33:6

I begin and end with Bro. Douglass. What shall society do with the Negro, or any ethnicity for that matter? The answer will still be the same: absolutely nothing! If they fall off the tree then let it fall.

Especially, if one is a Christ-follower, this theological approach should be one that the Evangelical is very familiar with and at home with:

What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? Romans 8:31

All that God has for me will be mine. Now, I still have to work for it, but my success depends on no one but me. I do not need the government to ensure I have healthcare. If I follow prudent living, which is found plentifully in God’s Word, I will have no problem securing good healthcare.

King David understood this as well, as he proclaimed, I have been young, and now am old, yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken or his children begging for bread.  Psalm 37:25

I am a Conservative, but my God is the God of Holy Scripture, and the moment the Republican Party does not adequately represent my interest, then I find another political entity to align with, or I abstain altogether. Still, as presently constituted, I do not align politically with the Democratic Party.

The Democratic Party has morphed into a godless entity that actively and passionately embraces all that is contrary to Holy Scripture and sound reasoning.

As usual, let me know what you think. Until then, keep your hands to the plow and seek to serve for an Audience of One.

With fear & trembling,

Ricky V Kyles Sr. DEd.Min.
